Cyber Security, Digital Handshake.

October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month and UCO’s Office of Information Technology wants you to stay cyber aware.  That is why we are hosting multiple events throughout the month to shed a brighter light on what we all can do to implement stronger security practices and raise community awareness.  Staying safer and more secure online starts with STOP. THINK. CONNECT. – the simple, actionable advice anyone can follow. STOP: make sure security measures are in place. THINK: about the consequences of your actions and behaviors online. CONNECT: and enjoy the Internet.

Throughout the month, many events are planned, including:

  • Weekly Quizzes & Statistics – Complete each week for weekly prizes and a chance to win the grand prize.
  • OIT Security Alert Team – Don’t get caught defenseless! We will be monitoring the campus for individuals who might be compromising the security of their devices and/or identity.
  • October 25, 2018; 9:30am – 2:00pm – Fun & informative event at Broncho Lake with prizes, games & food.
  • Online and Classroom Training for Faculty and Staff – Register for Cyber Security training in the UCO Learning Center, online is available on demand and instructor-led classes are available:
    • October 16 @ 3:00 p.m – 4:00 p.m.
    • October 29  @ 9:00 a.m – 10:00 a.m.
