I love the stars! I love looking at them and talking about them with my friends. One of the remarkable things I got to see on this trip was the Ranger talk about stars. This lecture was no joke. We met outside one of the visitors centers for a quick briefing about what was going to go on during the talk. The ranger passed out star charts and flashlights covered in a red lens. We followed the Ranger to behind the building where it was really dark. She gave us a few minutes to become dark-adjusted before starting the discussion. The Ranger even had a cool tool, a green laser. She used that laser to point clearly to objects in the night sky. This lecture happened to be one of the highlights for me during this trip. I learned how to find Polaris, Cassiopeia, Cancer, and Leo constellations in the night sky. The entire lecture was fascinating but very cold.
