The UCO Faculty Senate holds meetings the second Thursday of each month. The regularly scheduled February meeting was held on Thursday, March 10th. Guest speakers began with an open session with Provost Charlotte Simmons, followed by Vice President for Communication and Public Affairs, Adrienne Nobles. As is often the pace of the spring Faculty Senate, several proposals and a resolution were presented for a first read through that will be voted on in the first April Faculty Senate meeting. Faculty Senate Joint Resolution, FSR-2021-2022-003: Affirmation of and Support for Sustainability on the UCO Campus passed as well as two proposals calling for Faculty Handbook updates. FSP-2021-2022-003: Faculty Handbook Chapter 3.1 Proposed Revisions, focused on class attendance and FSP-2021-2022-004: Faculty Handbook Chapter 4 Proposed Revisions, aimed at adding specific language and updates regarding human resources and benefits. Elections for the 2022-2024 term are underway and Faculty Senate Executive Committee Elections will be held at final meeting of the year at the end of April.
