Mary Deter-Billings, Director of Employee Relations and Communications
After much consideration and reflection on feedback from the campus, and in an effort for greater response time and customer service, we have decided to partner with Deer Oaks as the primary Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for the University, starting on March 1, 2022. I am so excited about this change and of course want to use this opportunity to remind you about what all our EAP has to offer.
All UCO faculty and staff have access to the EAP through Deer Oaks. This benefit is available from day one of employment, through six months after separation, whether it is through voluntary or involuntary termination. The EAP provides free and confidential assessments, short-term counseling, referrals, telephonic life coaching, AWARE Stress Reduction Program, and virtual group counseling for you, dependents living at home or elsewhere and anyone who lives in your household. All services are confidential.
Beyond mental health and well-being assistance, the program offers several resources to help maintain a healthy work-life balance. Anytime someone reaches out to the EAP, they connect with a work-life specialist who can assist with a multitude of requests. Examples include finding childcare, elder care, repair services and other local services. The EAP can also provide legal consultation, vacation planning and financial planning assistance. They offer programs for ID theft recovery and Take the High Road Ride Reimbursement program. The perks to the EAP are quite robust, and we’re proud to offer our employees services that help them live life to the fullest.
To learn more about Deer Oaks and their EAP benefits, we are hosting a welcome call at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, via Zoom. Use this link to register to attend. You can also visit the Hub for more information about this benefit.
