The UCO Faculty Senate holds meetings the second Thursday of each month. The regularly scheduled September meeting was on Sept. 9, 2021, and a special emergency meeting was held on Sept. 1, 2021. The special meeting focused on a proposal to address campus safety amid COVID-19. This proposal and the response can be found on the Faculty Senate website.  At the September 9th regular meeting, Provost Charlotte Simmons was the first guest speaker, holding an open session; she will continue to be at each Faculty Senate meeting this year. Additionally, Dr. Erin Logan, the recently hired Title IX Coordinator, made an introduction to the Faculty Senate which included her background and philosophy for working across campus. The Standing Faculty Senate and University-Wide Committee leadership was also announced.

Faculty Senate elections are occurring for open seats for the 2022-2023 term in the following colleges:

College of Business (CB)- 1 seat

College of Fine Arts & Design (CFAD)- 2 seats

College of Liberal Arts (CLA)- 1 seat

Successful legislation included:

FSP 2020-2021-001: Covid-19 Campus Response and

FSR-2021-2022-001- No Weapons on Campus. 

First Reading:

FSP- 2021-2022-002: Acknowledging Native Lands was read into the record and will be voted on at the October meeting. 

The UCO Faculty Senate regularly meets every 2nd Thursday of the month during the academic year.  The Faculty Senate voted to move the October 14th meeting to Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 2:00.
