As we look forward to 2021, it’s time for us to reflect on the challenges we’ve faced and our achievements over this past year. Performance appraisals provide a structured format to do so that helps individuals evaluate where they’re at and articulate where they want to go.

Performance appraisals continue to be employee-led, with staff members completing a self-assessment first. Leaders then take this assessment into consideration when completing the final appraisal. This helps individuals be accountable for, and take control of, their own growth and development.

Self-appraisals will open on Jan. 11 and close Jan. 25. Supervisors will then have from Jan. 26 to Feb. 11 to complete their performance appraisals. Instructional sessions specifically for supervisors will be announced in January. If you’re interested in learning more about the performance appraisal process and how to complete a self-assessment, then sign up for one of our instructional sessions below:

  • 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9
  • 10-11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 11
  • 3:30-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15
  • noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16
  • 11 a.m.-noon Thursday, Dec. 17
  • 2-3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21

We will also be hosting come-and-go support sessions while self-appraisals are open. Specific dates and times will be announced in Centralities when we come back from winter break.

Buddy Broncho made his first appearance in UCO's own newspaper The Vista. It was the October 3, 1932, issue where a Broncho appears wearing a UCO football uniform. He has appeared numerous times throughout the years from local Edmond papers in the 60's to state-wide papers in the 80's. The commissioning of the first ever live mascot appears in UCO's 1979 Bronze Book where Buddy Broncho made his first public appearance at Homecoming. Since that time, Buddy has been a fixture at UCO events and in the hearts of UCO students.
