Broncho Brags

Great Job, Deb Gallagher!

Deb is the winner of the FY2020 2nd quarter Exceptional Performance Award! Deb was nominated by Dr. Brian Lamb, director of the School of Music, for her hard work and success in realigning the Oklahoma Center for Arts Education’s mission and outreach efforts to directly impact UCO art students and each of the College for Fine Arts and Design’s academic divisions. These efforts resulted in increased recruitment and enrollment for CFAD programs.

Speaking of, nominations for the FY2020 3rd Quarter award are now being accepted. The deadline to submit is Friday, April 17, 2020.

Way to go, Adrienne Nobles and Dean Webster!

Recently, Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs Adrienne Nobles, and Dean of College of Liberal Arts Dr. Cathy Webster, were part of the winning team at the Leadership OKC Trivia Night. Their team, #BLCE (Best Looking Class Ever) dominated the competition of 24 teams!

Buddy Broncho made his first appearance in UCO's own newspaper The Vista. It was the October 3, 1932, issue where a Broncho appears wearing a UCO football uniform. He has appeared numerous times throughout the years from local Edmond papers in the 60's to state-wide papers in the 80's. The commissioning of the first ever live mascot appears in UCO's 1979 Bronze Book where Buddy Broncho made his first public appearance at Homecoming. Since that time, Buddy has been a fixture at UCO events and in the hearts of UCO students.
