Office of Diversity and Inclusion: Enhance your Culture Even Online

[by Jordan Hill]
Whether it be a movie night, pajama jam, or mindfulness moments, UCO’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI), has something for everyone. What is ODI? It’s the place to be to enrich and advance your cultural competence, and to engage in opportunities centered around diversity. They work with numerous organizations, such as the Asian American Student Association, Diversity of the Round Table, and Student Alliance for Equality and provide tons of activities and events, both on campus and now virtually.
Students and staff at ODI also work to make it a friendly atmosphere, so make sure to stop by once campus opens back up. They are a STLR-tagged location after all. The office, which was previously just behind the UCO bookstore, will now be found on the first floor of the Nigh, room 136. If you’re wondering how you can get virtual STLR credit in the midst of learning and working from home, UCO’s ODI is the perfect start (and you don’t even have to leave your couch)! The Office of Diversity and Inclusion aims to provide interesting activities for students to help ease this transition and still have fun, while receiving STLR credit. Engaging in these virtual events means you can earn tons of STLR credit!
We know that this can be a confusing and challenging time for everyone, but these are just a few great opportunities you can take advantage of to stay engaged and learn a few new tricks from home. Now that you’re interested, you may be wondering how to find out about these events and more. You can start by following @UCOODI to be the first to hear about their activities, along with regularly checking the Student Transformative Learning Record’s activity pages and following us at @UCOSTLR on social media. Roll Chos!
