April 14, 2020: Legislative limbo: Many ‘good bills’ will have to wait until next session (Journal Record)

The coronavirus pandemic has likely put to an end any further consideration this year of numerous bills that had been progressing in the Oklahoma Legislature prior to mid-March.

Before meeting last week in an extraordinary special session called to affirm a state health emergency and to give Gov. Kevin Stitt broad authority to coordinate a response to the pandemic, lawmakers had not met at the Capitol since March 17. March 30, 2020: Oklahoma to receive $1.25B in relief (The Journal Record)

Cities and states battered financially by the COVID-19 pandemic will get some help under terms of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the approximately $2.2 trillion relief package passed by Congress and signed into law last week by President Donald Trump.
