Rick Baker’s (B.S.Ed. ‘82) hard work as a cross-country coach has earned him a place in the National Hall of Fame by the National Federation of State High School Associations.

Martha Burger (B.S. ‘83) was named a recipient of the 2021 Champion for Oklahoma State University Agriculture Award.

LaFonda Sutton-Burke (B.S. ‘88) was named director of field operations for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Chicago Field Office.

Don Ross (B.A. ‘86, M.A. ‘89) had a section of the Gilcrease Expressway in Tulsa named in his honor.

Paul Needham (MBA, ‘90) was awarded the Rosalie S. Wolf Memorial Elder Abuse Prevention Award by the Institute on Violence, Abuse and Trauma.

Jo Lynne Jones (B.A. ‘91) was named to the Journal Record’s 12th class of Oklahoma’s Most Admired CEOs and Financial Stewardship Award.

Melinda Pettigrew (M.A.Ed. ‘93) has been named Lexington Christian Academy’s Preschool-Elementary principal.

Lane Slovacek (B.A. 96) was named vice president of sales for Ideal Homes.

Mike Bartolina (B.S. ’92, M.A. ‘96) accepted the assistant coach position at Illinois State. Bartolina will be in charge of pole vault and horizontal jumps.

Mike Bussell (B.S. ‘96) was named assistant chief for the Norman Fire Department.

Jill Priest, M.F.A. (B.A. ‘96) was appointed associate dean of Central’s College of Fine Arts and Design.

Lt. Jon Brambila (B.A. ‘98) has been named deputy chief of the Prescott Police Department in Prescott, Arizona.

Jerel Cowan, Ph.D. (B.S. ‘00) has been appointed interim assistant dean of curriculum for the UCO College of Education and Professional Studies.

Rhonda Baker (B.A. ‘91, M.Ed. ‘00) has been elected vice-chairperson of the Education Committee of the Southern Legislative Conference.

Molly Kyler (B.S.Ed. ‘98, M.Ed. ‘01) will serve as United Way campaign chairperson for the 2021-22 campaign.
