Hello! My name is Sheridan Snyder.

I am the Sponsorship and Partnership Director for the Breaking the Barriers Media Conference.

My job consists of finding the best possible sponsors and partners for our conference.

Our sponsors will consist of local businesses around the Edmond, Oklahoma community.

Through our sponsors and partners we will gain knowledge, support, networking, and money to make this a successful conference.

Through our sponsors and partners, we will help students network through the community and work field.

Our goal is to have attendees leave the conference with gained knowledge about Mass Communications through our panels, speakers, and our mixer.

Meet the Co-Conference Director

I want to welcome you to our Breaking the Barriers conference homepage, where you can become immersed inside our media conference planning.

The conference will be held on on September 28, 2017, below are the details:

When: September 28, 2017 1 to 6:30 p.m.

Where:    The University of Central Oklahoma.

The panels will be in the Pegasus Theatre, 1 to 4:30 p.m.
The mixer will be in the third floor of Old North, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Who: Panelists on social media, fake news and databases. 

What: A media conference that looks into the newest trends and explores topics ranging from:

  • Making or breaking your brand.
  • The truth behind the lies.
  • Data revolution, the face behind the numbers. 

The conference will be filled with learning and networking opportunities. Great panelists and a keynote speaker are in the works for the conference and we hope you will check back for more updates.

My name is Eriech Tapia and I am one of the conference directors, who oversees daily operations of planning the conference and making it the best possible conference for those attending.

I work closely with each individual in our 12-member team to produce content leading up to the event and making the day of production go as smoothly as possible.

Attending conferences and planning them have been a part of my life for multiple years. I have helped coordinate events such as the Sand Springs Herbal Affair, which drew in a crowd of upwards of 30,000. I have also planned smaller events in Edmond.
