Brought in by the UCO Design Department, the Melton Gallery welcomes Stacey Holloway, installation-based artist who currently works as Assistant Professor of Sculpture at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
For Flight of the Elephant, Holloway developed sculpture in response to design work by UCO Design Department Chair, Amy Johnson, created to promote the protection of elephants. Johnson received grant funding through WildAid, an organization that works to increase support for conservation efforts, as well as the Kirkpatrick Foundation, who generously serve the OKC community through their support of arts and culture and animal wellbeing. The opening of this event includes poster-work by UCO Design students and a musical performance by the UCO School of Music at Mitchell Hall Theater.
