Falling in love with Brussels

Our last but not least visit was Brussels! This has been my favorite stop for many reasons. We tried 20130612-192852.jpgsome of their famous chocolate and waffles, got to participate in a parade, roam around the market, and enjoy the entertainment of the street performers.

We learned some history of the cities gypsies and met a lot of people from all different parts of the world. I will definitely remember a particular performer named Washington who sang and played the guitar in French, Spanish, and English. He played many of my favorite songs and I loved it so much I bought his CDs to bring a little bit of Europe flare back home!

Tate Museum

Yesterday we had the chance to visit the Tate Modern Art Museum. It was very interesting to see how art has changed throughout the years. This piece is called Bust of a Woman by Pablo Picasso in 1944. His art has influenced the world and continues to do so. This was my favorite piece.

Diana Disappointment

May 30, 2013 Walking the streets of London like a pro!!! Enjoying my time here so far.

May 27, 2013 Very excited about this trip. Today I’ll be in Oklahoma, but tomorrow I’ll be on my way to London. I’ve been planning on this trip all semester, and now it’s finally here. I immediately turn this journey to its main purpose which is to learn about other cultures and actually have a personal experience in another country. I’m anxious and excited and really looking forward to everything that’s coming my way.

London Tube: thank goodness we packed light!

London Calling

So impressed with students on day one. In the last 24 hours, they’ve flown on two jets, ridden multiple Tubes, one bus and one airport tram. Those who rode their first airplanes did so like pro’s. London thus far has included a stroll through Covent Garden, a tour through the heart of London, a real pub meal – and that’s while everyone was extremely jet lagged! One of today’s learning moments: how to sleep while standing with eyes open.
