Information Technology News
December 21, 2018
Leverage your student’s devices to drive discussion, identify common misconceptions and get real-time feedback.
UCO recently announced Top Hat as the official UCO-supported classroom clicker/polling solution. A panel of faculty advisers, working with the Technology Resource Center (TRC), recommended Top Hat after an extensive evaluation of current solutions. The Top Hat toolset, available through the TRC, is a fantastic addition to the resources available to support transformative teaching and learning experiences.
Designed to create an active classroom experience, Top Hat can provide a solution to engage every student, during every class session. Top Hat allows you to:
- Synchronize the lecture experience between professor and student
- Upload your slides with ease and add interactive questions
- Save time with automated attendance
- Engage the back row with the discussion tool
- Export grades to your Learn@UCO Courses
- Sync class rosters and grades without the need to log in to multiple systems
The Office of Information Technology is dedicated to continuously improving resources available to our students, faculty and staff. The TRC has partnered with Top Hat to provide instructors with not only state-of-the-art technology but also resources, support and training to put the technology into practice within UCO’s classrooms.
The TRC continues to make active learning technologies a priority through projects like Top Hat in addition to active learning focused trainings, the Digital Central Academy and other initiatives. Instructors can learn more about the Technology Resource Center on the TRC website or sign up for active learning and academic technology trainings in the UCO Learning Center.
