So there are many reasons why Oklahoma is a great place to stay in. One of those reasons is that Oklahoma is an ideal destination for you to start your road trips. Do you know Oklahoma is known as the land of ultimate road trips? And I am going to tell you why.
Oklahoma is located at a strategic location which is quite the center of the nation which means it is never too far to travel anywhere in the states. Going from Oklahoma to Texas or even Missouri is doable!
Also, Oklahoma includes a great route 66 drive. Route 66, “the Mother Road,” is significant because it is the United State’s first all-weather highway linking Chicago to Los Angeles. Oklahoma has the longest stretch of this highway, more than 400 miles from start to finish. It would be awe-inspiring if you drove on route 66 during your time in the United States. When you drive on the historic route 66, don’t forget to stop by the world’s biggest pop bottle. Pops Arcadia serves up to 700 varieties of soda.
Don’t forget to experience the cowboy culture when you are here in Oklahoma. While you are on the historic route 66, remember to take the Interstate 35 into the Interstate 44 to stop by the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. This is a perfect place for you to discover the USA’s Wild West roots.
Oklahoma, the Sooner State, is beautiful during the fall. The gorgeous weather and the fall foliage are many reasons you should at least have one road trip in Oklahoma. You can even stop by places such as
Beavers Bend State Park
Clayton Lake State Park
Chickasaw National Recreation Area
and Turner Falls.
Last but not least, my personal favorite reason why Oklahoma is an ideal destination for you to start your road trips is the SUNSET! Oklahoma has the prettiest sunset that I’ve ever seen. What can be more healing than taking a road trip while enjoying the astounding sunset?
