The University of Central Oklahoma has named Parker Tidwell as the Fall 2022 Class Marshal for the College of Liberal Arts.
First presented in 1994, the Class Marshal title has become a proud Central tradition. Each of the honorees will wear a bronze graduation gown and a special stole during the fall commencement ceremonies, signifying the highest degree of academic excellence.
Parker Tidwell is a political science and forensic science major with a 4.0 GPA in the College of Liberal Arts. An Oklahoma City native, Tidwell is a member of the Oklahoma State Regent’s Academic Scholars Program and received placement on the President’s Honor Roll. He received the Student Research, Creative and Scholarly Activities grant in 2022.
“Though I came in as a transfer student, UCO welcomed me with open arms and encouraged me to pursue my interests,” Tidwell said.
“My professors and advisers in both degrees pushed me to be my best and accomplish my goals. Coming to UCO was not part of my initial plan, but in hindsight, I would not have had it any other way.”
Tidwell hopes to find a way to use both of his degrees to better the community. Additionally, he plans to continue his cold-case research.
