As Oklahomans, we have become all too familiar with natural disasters and the aftermath that follows. As a consequence, we have also developed a keen sense of caring and empathy for those affected. We have been the benefactor of the generosity of others many times in the past and it is now our turn to return the favor. Hurricane Harvey has helped reignite our belief in the “Oklahoma Standard” and its ability to make a difference in our neighbors’ lives in their time of need. The generosity and helping hearts of Oklahomans has led the Volunteer and Service Learning Center (VSLC), Leadership Central and the UCO Student Association (UCOSA) to work together to raise funds and gather supplies for the Houston and Coastal Bend Areas of Texas that have been affected by Harvey.
Should you have any questions or need additional information, please contact the VSLC at 405-974-2621 or volunteer@uco.edu.
