David Nelson, Professor, is a guest panelist for the Broadcast Education Association Super Regional Conference, at Point Park University this fall. He will present, “Suggesting or Imposing? Addressing Editorial Control in Student-Produced Media.”

Dr. Kole Kleeman, Professor, completed a book chapter “On Being a Cross-Cultural Learner in Poland” for the book Journeys in Transformational Learning: Essays in Honor of J. Gail Neely M.D. Dr. Kleeman is giving a paper on “Margaret Janita Herrington: The First Woman Attorney in Pottawatomie County Oklahoma” at the Second Annual Gender and Sexuality Studies Conference September 28-30 in Oklahoma City. Dr. Kleeman had a paper accepted for presentation at the Midwest Popular Culture Association Oct. 18-22 in Saint Louis, MO. His paper is titled: “Moonlight (2016): A Study of Affectivity in Three Acts.”

Dr. David Duty, lecturer, presented “Interactive Lectures: Incorporating Humor & Narrative to Foster Active Learning” at UCO’s 18th Annual Collegium on College Teaching Practice on August 16.

Dr. Mary Carver, Department Chair and Associate Professor, will present “Giving Voice to a Movement Though the Pages of the Woman’s Journal” at the American Journalism Historians Conference in Little Rock, Arkansas this October.
