Dr. Michael Springer and Dr. Mark Janzen traveled with UCO students to London on an Applied Research Study Tour. Their work has been featured on Lambeth Place Library’s blog, A Monument of Fame.

On June 15, 2017, History and Geography undergraduate Rachel Watson, MA candidate Caroline Rechner, and assistant professor Marc Goulding, Ph.D, presented in Washington, D.C., at the American Association of University Professors annual conference on the state of higher education. The session, titled “Sanctuary Schools and Student Activism,” addressed Watson and Rechner’s recent petition drive and campus activism. In attendance was an editor with AAUP’s magazine, Academe, who invited Watson and Rechner to submit articles for an upcoming issue.

Dr. Sarah Kyle has been appointed a Fellow at the Obermann Center for Advanced Studies at the University of Iowa for her upcoming sabbatical year.

Dr. James Mock presented a paper at the 2017 Annual Meeting of the Canadian Society for Aesthetics in Toronto on May 27th, entitled “Rational Relativism, John Dewey & Richard Wollheim.” He will also be presenting a modified version of this paper at the 34th Annual Meeting of the American Society for Aesthetics Rocky Mountain Division, entitled “John Dewey, Richard Wollheim and Rational Relativism,” on July 9th.
