#CFADWorks: Shellie Sterling

Returning from an audition in sunny Los Angeles, UCO College of Fine Arts and Design alumna Shellie Sterling shared how her college experience prepared her for a career as a professional actress.

After receiving her B.F.A. in Theatre Performance from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2013, Sterling went on to continue her education with an M.F.A. in Theatre from California State University Fullerton (CSUF). Sterling has amassed experience acting onstage, in commercials and in film, and she now shares her tools of the trade with her theatre students as an instructor at CSUF. She is best known for her work inĀ films such as “Rise Up Black Man,” “Army of Frankensteins” and, most recently, “Triassic World.”

Buddy Broncho made his first appearance in UCO's own newspaper The Vista. It was the October 3, 1932, issue where a Broncho appears wearing a UCO football uniform. He has appeared numerous times throughout the years from local Edmond papers in the 60's to state-wide papers in the 80's. The commissioning of the first ever live mascot appears in UCO's 1979 Bronze Book where Buddy Broncho made his first public appearance at Homecoming. Since that time, Buddy has been a fixture at UCO events and in the hearts of UCO students.
