Peak is a modern grid based WordPress theme, boasting a masonry grid that adapts to any screen size or device thrown at it. March 13, 2020: COVID-19 Response Updates

There are no new major announcements from the university regarding our COVID-19 response today.

To reiterate, the university schedule is:

  • Classes as scheduled, March 13-15;
  • Spring Break, March 16-22;
  • Extended Spring Break for Students, March 23-27 (campus operational, faculty and staff report, student workers optional);
  • Alternate Instructional Delivery, March 28-April 12 (campus operational, faculty and staff report, student workers optional); and,
  • Return to normal operations, April 13 (classes go back to original method of delivery).

We continue to gather questions submitted through the university’s coronavirus website and have developed an extensive list of Frequently Asked Questions. Categories addressed include Classroom/Coursework, Campus Facilities/Student Employees, Graduation/Financial Aid/Tuition and Personal Health/Self-Reporting.

It is very important that faculty, staff and students stay aware and read communications from the university in the coming weeks. We are limiting the number and type of email blasts coming from the university as we navigate this situation.

Self-Reporting Spring Break Travel

Faculty, staff and students are asked to self-report planned spring break travel via this online form before leaving for the break. This will help the university determine if a faculty or staff member or student should be recommended for self-quarantine, depending on the evolution of the situation in a particular area over spring break. Individuals who are asked to self-quarantine will be contacted regarding further arrangements for working remotely or housing.

University-Related Event Cancellations

We have compiled an ongoing list of university events that have been canceled, postponed or adjusted in some way.

Technology Support

We are updating the Continuing Service website with help and support resources as they become available. The Technology Resource Center and the Center for eLearning and Connected Environments are available for consultation, training and support to continue teaching and conducting business operations. Alternative delivery methods should use university-supported technology.
Today’s “Preparing for Alternative Instructional Delivery Methods” webinar will be made available on the Help and Support page as soon as the recording becomes available.

Ongoing Assessment

We understand that many in the Central community have upcoming vacations, conferences or study abroad plans that these actions may affect. The safety of our campus community is among our highest priorities. We will continue to assess the situation, provide updates as needed and adapt to individual circumstances as best as possible.
