Good Sport 101

You’ve gotten involved. You’ve shown your school spirit. Now, it’s time to be a good sport and support your fellow Bronchos through UCO Athletics!

We asked UCO Athletics about the ins-and-outs of supporting student-athletes, and here’s what they had to say.

Did you know that the Bronchos have won 19 national titles? In fact, Central’s rowing team won UCO’s latest national championship just last year. The Bronchos have high-quality teams in numerous sports, so chances are that there’s a UCO team out there competing for a title in your favorite sport.

  1. Go to games. UCO students get into all UCO Athletics events for free. Just bring your student ID, scan it at the gate and enjoy the show!
  2. Wear bronze and blue. Buying a UCO shirt goes a long way in supporting the Bronchos. Whether in the campus bookstore or at various locations around the metro (Textbook Brokers, Walmart, Target), UCO gear is just around the corner. Want to buy online? Bronchosportsgear.com is the official store of UCO Athletics. (Psst. They’re always running a sale.) If you’re running low on funds, be on the lookout for free T-shirt giveaways around campus. Wherever you get it, be sure to rock that good ol’ Central bronze and blue!

Don’t miss the free stuff. Giveaways happen at every UCO event. From on-field games to random drawings, there is always a chance to win, including a tuition waiver. Central offers tuition waivers at a variety of athletic events. Want to be entered? Show up to a game and scan your student ID – that’s it!

  4. Get to know athletes. College students have a unique opportunity to get to know the stars on the field. If you’ve seen a student-athlete in your class, come out to a game and support them. Student-athletes work hard in both academics and athletics, so support them in both the classroom and the stands! You never know who could be your next lifelong friend.
