The Oklahoma Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE) and the Online Consortium of Oklahoma (OCO) recently awarded the 2022 Oklahoma Online Excellence Award for Teaching to Abbie Lambert-Vogts, Ph.D., assistant professor of management, at the OSRHE meeting held at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, April 28.

Recipients of the Council for Online Learning Excellence Awards are recognized for demonstrating exemplary leadership, innovation, collaboration and results that advance online and blended learning in the state of Oklahoma. Candidates for the teaching excellence award are evaluated on pedagogy, innovation, collaboration, results and sustainability.

“We are thrilled Dr. Lambert-Vogts was recognized for her skills and dedication to online learning,” said Holly Osburn, Ph.D., chairperson and associate professor of management.

“The management department is proud to have such talented faculty serving our students.”

In her nomination materials, Lambert-Vogts was noted for the application of multiple neuroeducation principles in the design of her online courses, including fostering opportunities for experiential learning within and lifelong learning beyond her classroom.

“I’m grateful every day to have the opportunity to teach the next generation of professionals in our community, and I’m truly honored to be recognized by my peers for that work,” said Lambert-Vogts.

As a leader in online education, Lambert-Vogts coordinated the development of the online Bachelor of Business Administration in human resource management and two graduate-level courses for the online Master of Business Administration program. She also contributes to continuous online teaching excellence at UCO as a peer course quality reviewer.

The Oklahoma Online Excellence awards are given to faculty in the areas of accessibility, innovation, teaching, individual leadership, and team, program or institution leadership. A diverse panel of reviewers evaluates submissions and selects awardees to be recognized each spring during the Oklahoma Learning Innovations Summit.

OCO members collaborate across the state of Oklahoma to invest in the excellence of online education through policy, practice, resources and innovation.
