On Sept. 19, recent “American Idol” top-24 finalist and former ACM student Trevor McBane brings his authentic Okie twang to ACM@UCO's High Noon Showcase.
ACM@UCO's High Noon continues Sept. 5 with Dawson Hollow, an indie-folk rock quintet based in the Ozark Mountains. The band performs 12:15 p.m. in the Songwriting Room (first floor) at ACM@UCO, 25 S. Our Business Development Center manager, Derek Brown, and The Flaming Lips have been nominated for a Tony Award for the SpongeBob Broadway musical!
From The University of Central Oklahoma: Maxwell Moore will represent the College of Fine Arts and Design as a spring 2018 Class Marshal with a 4.0 GPA. Moore is an applied technology major from Oklahoma City. After graduation, Moore hopes to pursue a music career in California, as a music or studio technician, as well as design music equipment and produce and write music. . . .
Director of our Contemporary Music Business program Nick Ley will be presenting as part of Walrus Audio Effects Ed lineup at the 2018 Norman Music Fest on April 28! He will hold a discussion about selling bi-product and helping musicians identify new revenue streams. He will also be giving away a pedal during each discussion session!
ACM@UCO student Sophia Massad will be releasing a new single May 4! The single, “Insecurities,” opens with a beautiful piano solo before adding Massad’s powerful vocals and a guitar riff. The single will release on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Google Play and all other music platforms.
