In the spirit of Lyric’s hit production, The Who’s “Tommy,” “When We’re Gone” is a rock musical that follows Todd, an angst-ridden teen in plague-ridden 14th-century London and his desire to make great art in a time of great need.

This wildly creative new musical strikes a brilliant balance of modern day characters, a pop-punk score and the life-changing events of 1349.

Anyone who has wondered what life is all about will be enlightened, entertained and amazed.

Fueling the production is a live score performed by professional musicians, including ACM@UCO Assistant Director Patrick Conlon on mandolin and violin, full-time ACM lecturer Than Medlam on guitar and ACM instructor Michael Mosteller on drums, among others.

“It’s a cool setting concept, intense acting, great songs, and your chance to see the world premier of this show right here in the Plaza District,” Medlam said in a social media post.

Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma’s production of “When We’re Gone” runs through Oct. 14 at Lyric on the Plaza, 1727 NW 16th St., in the Plaza District. Words by Alana Jacoby, music by Scotty Arnold and directed by Michael Baron.
