Summer 2020 Enrollment Now Open: Contemporary Music Production

ACM@UCO enrollment is now open for our Summer 2020 semester, with courses led by a lineup of innovative and experienced music industry professionals and three core areas of study: Contemporary Music Production, Business and Performance.

Students at the Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma (ACM@UCO) can earn an Associate’s degree in our three core music areas and a Bachelor’s degree in Commercial Production or Audio Production.

Minors are available in the areas of Contemporary Music Performance, Contemporary Music Production, Contemporary Music Business, Songwriting, and Post-Production Audio.

teaching: Applied Lesson in Production
and
Beginning Production Techniques

Songwriter, recording engineer, promoter, instructor and owner of 33rd Street Studio in Oklahoma City. His decade-plus experience in the music industry also includes band manager and touring sound engineer. He’s recorded with hundreds of different local artists since opening his recording studio in 2013.

teaching: Music Fundamentals, B1 and Aural Skills

Oklahoma songwriter, guitarist, vocalist, composer/arranger and instructor with a two-decade career in the music industry. You’ve probably heard his band, aka Dr. Pants, on Jersey Shore, BBC World Cup Soccer, CBS Sunday Morning, Comedy Bang! Bang!, and Mtv’s Next.

Songwriter, vocalist, composer, sound designer and live musician with an acclaimed passion for creating music scores for indie artists and filmmakers.

teaching: Live Sound Fundamentals

Multi-instrumentalist, producer, instructor and half of the Tandem band with musician Mitch Covey. His eclectic experience in the music industry spans performing with a symphonic orchestra to audio engineering and Dj’ing.

ACM faculty Nick Ley presents at Norman Music Fest

Director of our Contemporary Music Business program Nick Ley will be presenting as part of Walrus Audio Effects Ed lineup at the 2018 Norman Music Fest on April 28! He will hold a discussion about selling bi-product and helping musicians identify new revenue streams. He will also be giving away a pedal during each discussion session!

OKC-BASED BAND HANIWA RELEASES NEW ALBUM “VIOLENT SUN”

OKC-based indie pop band Haniwa recently released a new album titled “Violent Sun.” The LP was recorded and mixed at the ACM@UCO studios by ACM@UCO student Caleb Gray and mastered by ACM@UCO faculty member Kevin Lively. Additionally, band member Dylan Walling is an alumnus of our program. Congratulations to all those involved in this amazing new record. ACM@UCO FACULTY MEMBER RELEASES NEW ALBUM

ACM@UCO faculty member Sephra Scheuber released her new album “Pieces of Schema” on Tuesday, Aug. 22. The album is the antithesis of a concept album with each song twisting into a new musical perspective, blending the spirit of complex jazz and the spirit of bold punk. Sephra will perform songs from her new album on Friday, Sept. 22 at IAO Gallery located at 706 W.
