I think one of my favorite things that I need to use more with the iPad 2 is the camera. As a photography instructor teaching to visual people, it’s a powerful tool. Yesterday I demonstrated to my News Photography students how to operate our Olympus audio recorders (which they use to create audio photo slideshows). I decided to show the recorder via the iPad 2 camera- via the classroom projector. Perfect combination! Instead of showing all 30 students how to use it individually, I decided to hit record so they could review it later. I used the iPad 2′s iMovie app- which is a piece of cake to edit with. I decided to delete my original audio and record a new voice instruction (I’m not good at live audio). A quick upload to Youtube- and it’s one thing I won’t have to repeat later.

Using the iPad 2's built in camera.

What do they use to put the audio together with the pics for the sideshows?
Hi Darren,
We were using Soundslides, but have since moved to iMove ’11 on the Mac. This allows the students to do a lot more with their slideshows and even incorporate some video- upload them to Vimeo or Youtube, etc. Although I love how easy Soundslides works, it just has its limitations.
