According to Adrien’s earlier post, “A Voice for the Voiceless”, April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. While I was researching the book, “A Boy Who was raised as a Dog” by Dr. Bruce Perry, I found an interesting poster about sexually abused children and thought this would be an excellent subject for another post to help raise awareness of Child Abuse right here in our community.
The Metropolitan Library System of Oklahoma City runs programs year round that offer learning opportunities for all Oklahoma citizens. This month is no different. They are offering at least seven different programs and the one that caught my eye is the poster below for Staying Safe: Sexual Abuse Awareness Workshop. This workshop is being held at different Metro Library locations around the City during the month of April. Check it out. The information you learn may save you or a loved one from being victimized, abused or worse.
